2026–27What Suits you?
Missions run two to three hours a week for six to eight weeks. Blueprint runs three to four hours a week for eight to 10 weeks. Every program offers In-Person Events, Remote Events, and Online Submissions.

Indi Missions offer a screen-free program where students use color tiles to program their indi robot as they navigate obstacles or terrain in the yearly theme. Working in teams, they’ll guide indi on fun adventures, create life-like features like rivers and playgrounds, and design a custom world for their robot!

BOLT Missions provide fun challenges for a team of students. Every season the theme changes with the students collaborating on robot coding, decision making, and basic engineering concepts while also getting to design a new environment for the BOLT to navigate!
What Students Learn
• Themed Missions mirror real-life challenges, requiring strategic thinking
• Teamwork and confidence building
• Block and text-based coding using a tablet, phone, or PC
• Leverage creativity skills by building around BOLT with Blueprint Snap pieces, or any household items, to accomplish challenges within the Missions

RVR Missions is designed for teams who want to combine high-performance driving with engineering, coding, and sensor integration. The events are exciting and a different theme every season requires students to iterate on their past coding, building, and troubleshooting experiences. This is the pinnacle of the Sphero Robotics Missions programs!
What Students Learn
• Themed Missions mirror real-life challenges, building strategic thinking and engineering design skills
• Teamwork and confidence building
• Block and text-based coding using a tablet, smartphone, or PC
• Leverage ingenuity by building directly on RVR with Blueprint Engineering or Blueprint Snap pieces, or any household items, to accomplish challenges within the Missions
• Students learn to manually operate RVR during Missions using phones or tablets

The Sphero Robotics Competition brings students together in a supportive competition community to compete with robots they design, build, code, and operate—gaining confidence through participation. Teams bring up to two robots to compete head-to-head against other teams on a shared competition field with the top teams moving on to the event finals.
What Students Learn
• Design, build, code, and operate robots with confidence
• One team can compete with up to two robots, each created to compliment the other for deeper strategy
• Leverage self-printed 3D parts for infinite design possibilities
• Compete in head-to-head matches against other teams
• Showcase coding and robotics skills through Technology Missions
• The competition progression – win the event finals and qualify for a Championship Event

Not New to Sphero Robotics
TEAM Alliance is a nonprofit that works with volunteers to put affordable, student-run robotics events within reach of any school or community group. The organization was founded in 2025, but the programs it runs have been going since 2020, with six seasons of events already behind them.
Programs run on Sphero robots at two levels. Sphero Robotics Missions, built around indi, BOLT, and RVR, are the entry point. Blueprint Robotics is the competition track for teams ready to take it further. Easy to start, with room to keep going.
Student-Powered™ isn’t a tagline here. It’s the operating rule. Students make every technical and creative decision. Adults handle logistics and keep the environment safe, acting as coordinators rather than coaches.
Events are designed so a small group of volunteers can run one without wrestling with complicated logistics. Technical, financial, and geographic barriers get stripped out on purpose, so a first event is genuinely achievable and the ceiling stays high.
If you can book a gym for a Saturday, you can run an event. You don’t need a robotics background, you don’t need equipment, and you don’t need a budget.

Hosts come to us as teachers, librarians, and parks staff, not as robotics people. The grant covers the field, the awards, and the banners, and TEAM Alliance staff walk you through the day.
Registration fees stay with the event, which is why a lot of hosts treat the day as a fundraiser rather than a cost.
