TEAM Coordinator Pledge

Welcome! The intent of this pledge is to define the relationship between TEAM Alliance (TEAM) and the Team Coordinators (TCs). This includes commitments that TEAM Alliance and you, as the Team Coordinator, are making for the Sphero Robotics Programs this season. This includes the Sphero Robotics Missions (SRM) using indi, BOLT, and RVR and the Sphero Robotics Competition (SRC) using Blueprint Robotics.

The primary role of the Team Coordinator is to facilitate an environment where students can lead, fail, learn, and succeed. The TC acts as the organizational backbone of the team, ensuring that the Student-Powered Policy is upheld at all times. By accepting this role, you agree that the intellectual property, design decisions, and physical work produced by the team are entirely Student-Powered. By being added as a TC in myTEAMevents.org, you agree to the below pledge.

TEAM agrees to support you, the TC, by providing:

  • Resources: Team meeting materials, SRM and SRC manuals, volunteer training materials, and program-specific documentation
  • Communications and Training: Regular communications throughout the season with updates, important dates, competition manual updates, training opportunities, and stories from around the community
  • Registration System Support: Registration management and troubleshooting
  • Safety: Implementation and oversight of the TEAM Alliance Youth Protection Policy
  • Conduct: Implementation and oversight of the Code of Conduct and Student-Powered policies
  • Conflict Mediation: TEAM mediates concerns and conflicts between the TC and the following groups and individuals. TEAM has final determination of the outcome of such concerns and conflicts.
    • TEAM Alliance staff
    • Participating organization(s) and the associated team(s)
    • Local and Regional Event Hosts

As part of this pledge you, the TC, agrees to:

  • Safety: Comply with the TEAM Alliance Youth Protection Policy
  • Conduct:
    • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Student-Powered policies and ensure that the students on your teams have access to the policies and comply to them
    • Ensure all TCs associated with your team(s) in myTEAMevents.org have read and agreed to the TEAM Alliance Team Coordinator Pledge
  • Registration:
  • Events:
    • Ensure that you, or another responsible adult, is with the students for the full duration of the event
    • Do not bring a student to an event that is not in the TEAM Alliance registration website with all approved waivers complete
    • Read and understand the current season competition manual
    • Be responsible for the conduct of everyone associated with your team(s) including the students and the spectators
    • If an Event Host cancels an event, your team is going to be able to register for an alternative event of the same type on the TEAM Alliance registration website.
    • If you cancel your team’s attendance to an event with less than two weeks notice from the day of the event, your team is not able to register for an alternative event of the same type. Exceptions to this are handled by TEAM Alliance on a case-by-case basis.
  • Financials:
    • Understand the team’s season registration includes entry into a set number of pre-Regional Championship events, and no refunds or credits are provided regardless if the team attends each type of event.
    • Understand the team’s season registration includes one Regional Championship event fee, but if the team does not attend this event, the team’s organization will receive a credit in their account. No refunds are provided if the team’s organization fails to register teams the following season.

TEAM Alliance looks forward to working with you and your team on a great season! If you have any questions, you can always contact your Regional Programs Manager or support@teamalliance.org.
