Your school already has the gym, the staff, and the students for a school robotics competition. TEAM Alliance brings the equipment, the guidance, and staff support.
TEAM Alliance
Schools are the most typical venue for our events, alongside libraries, community centers, and university campuses. Most hosts work with a school gym.
You don’t have to teach robotics to host one. Most event hosts are STEM teachers, campus administrators, or CTE staff. TEAM Alliance handles the parts that require robotics expertise.
Hosting starts with two things from your school: the space, and one person to coordinate with our team. Every program is Student-Powered™, which means the students run the competition.
TEAM Alliance staff support you from planning through the event itself.
If your school is short on volunteers, TEAM Alliance can send its own support team to help run the event alongside you.
The exact shape of a typical day, check-in through awards, depends on your event’s format and size. If you want specifics before committing, contact us and we’ll walk you through what a day at a school like yours would look like.

Every adult at the event follows TEAM Alliance’s Youth Protection Policy, which requires for appropriate supervision during activities and no time alone with a student in a private or out-of-sight setting. The policy also covers appropriate physical contact and private communication with students, and it bars alcohol, tobacco, vaping and other controlled substances during TEAM Alliance activities. Both the Youth Protection Policy and the Code of Conduct are published in full.
Yes. The policy requires every adult to follow any extra youth protection requirements the event host sets, including background checks or screenings set by national, state, local or school district authorities. Every adult at the event follows those requirements as well as TEAM Alliance’s.
TEAM Alliance provides volunteer guides to help your event run smoothly. The Code of Conduct covers hosts, volunteers, team coordinators, parents and everyone else who attends, and the Youth Protection Policy expects each adult to know basic emergency procedures and have access to emergency contacts.
Anyone who believes a student may be at risk, has been harmed or has seen inappropriate behavior reports it right away to the event host or to TEAM Alliance staff. You can also send a written report to youthprotection@teamalliance.org. If the law requires it or a student may be in immediate danger, call local law enforcement. Adults should not try to investigate or intervene directly.
TEAM Alliance handles reports as confidentially as possible and shares them only with people who need to know or where the law requires. Anyone who violates the policy may be removed from events or banned from future participation.
Students from TEAM Alliance’s four programs, each built for a different age group based on a student’s age on August 31 of the season: indi Missions (U9, up to age 8), BOLT Missions (U12, up to age 11), RVR Missions (U15, up to age 14) and the Blueprint Robotics Competition (U19, up to age 18). An event can run one program or several, so which divisions compete at your school is something you can discuss with TEAM Alliance when you plan the event.
Hosting starts with a room and someone willing to be the point of contact.
