TEAM Alliance runs Sphero Robotics Missions and Competitions for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The programs are built to be picked up, not prepared for: a team opens the box, starts a mission, and has something working in the first session.
Pick any two. The differences come down to the age band each program is built for, the robot a team uses, and what a first year costs. Rows where the two differ are marked, and every figure is per team, not per student.

Itemized List
Product names and prices are Sphero’s own, from the materials page each program links to. Robots and fields are reused season after season, so this list is a first-year list. These quantities cover a SINGLE team. Additional teams can share the same field but register separately and need their own robots.
$200 a season after that, or $100 if the team takes part by Online Submission. Nothing on the optional list is needed to compete.
$200 a season after that, or $100 if the team takes part by Online Submission. Nothing on the optional list is needed to compete.
The oldest Missions band and the priciest robot, and still cheaper than BOLT. One RVR does the job where BOLT needs a pair. Nothing on the optional list is needed to compete.
The second kit is matched by the 2026–27 SRC team matching grant, which also covers ground shipping on both kits, for qualifying teams. One grant per team, unlimited teams per organization. Without it the first year is $3,098.
See the difference
Sphero Robotics Missions and Sphero Robotics Competition follow a continuum that builds STEM strengths over the progression of Programs. Because Missions and Competition have distinct event formats, however, they are grouped separately here.
